WHERE?

Figure Eight Forest Farm sits on 15 acres in the ecologically rich western Piedmont region of NC. A main tributary into the South Yadkin River, Hunting Creek, runs an oxbow along the edge of the property creating a large wetland basin on the bottom half of the acreage, which provides habitat for many important flora and fauna.

From there, the land rises up to abandoned pastures, upland hardwood forests and mixed elevation coves, hosting an abundance of biodiversity. Straddling this floodplain border creates opportunities to identify and grow in a vast array of microclimates, and Figure Eight is building a unique, productive permaculture system that can both feed our customers and conserve this sensitive ecosystem.
